Climate, Citizenship and Conduct

Importance:

School climate is similar to weather. When the weather is good, people are happier and more productive. The same is true for schools. When school climate is positive, better learning and work conditions are in place and general morale is optimistic. The school climate promotes students and employees responsible citizenship through decision-making and ethical and lawful conduct.

School Community :

The Egyptian American Schools is purpose built. The buildings are unique in design and they sufficiently support the population.

The school creates a warm, loving community where the students learn how to be safe, to solve problems through critical thinking and interact with peers in positive ways. They achieve all that through active involvement with the physical environment Instructional and support staff cooperatively work to create a climate that fosters the attainment of the school's mission and goals.

Parents are always welcomed to visit the school and there is a parent / teacher council that re - forms every 2 years from among the list of parents who nominate themselves at the beginning of the school year. Elections take place under the supervision of the school administrators. The council meets once a month and topics on the agenda are prepared by the head of the council (chosen from among the elected parents) with the assistance of the headmistress. Decisions and recommendations are respected by the school community.

Some parents offer to undertake various responsibilities such as assisting with activities, annual shows, and field- trips. .etc.

The school advances respect for different international cultures, and celebrates cultural diversity through the performing arts and special observances. Art teachers, social studies teachers and elementary home room teachers take great care to encourage, to prepare and to provide for celebrating occasions. Like Christmas, New Year (both Islamic and Christian) Thanksgiving, Islamic Ramadan, Easter, Mother's day …etc. Teachers, children and their parents are all involved in preparing cards, costumes, decorations, songs and music celebrating those occasions. It is always a happy time for everybody.

There is no bias or prejudice, and no sanctions by the school. Every child has the right to apply, fulfill all the requirements concerning age, perform successful entrance exams and pay the school fees.
